Before asking for a fee, list the technology decisions you need to make: which risks to address, which licenses to review, which projects to sequence and who needs to approve them. Is vCIO planning the same as managed IT support?

What should a useful technology review produce?
Ask for named outputs and owners, such as the agreed risk actions, license review findings and roadmap priorities. The scope should identify when these are reviewed and which implementation work needs separate approval.
Can we compare a vCIO fee with a full-time CIO salary?
